Dating Experts Even More Clueless About Asexuality Than Renowned Sex Experts Are

Planet Love Match radio invited dating experts to discuss the issue of Asexuality. Users can find this video by following this link. Dating experts may understand the basics of human courtship rituals, but neither the experts nor the author of the Digital Journal article drafted from a press release understood the topic.

“I don’t think it’s healthy for people to be Asexual their whole life,” said Simms in the radio broadcast. Simms has no evidence on her side to support her assertion, but there is little scientific research on Asexuality to asert that the opposite is true. A recent study indicates Asexuals do not have a higher incidence of mental health problems than other segments of the population.

Simms further confused the audience by saying that sexual attraction, rather than sex drive, is controlled by a person’s hormone levels. Neither estrogen nor testosterone affect a person’s sexual orientation.

Even more troublesome is not something Simms or Lorraine said, but rather an error made by the Digital Journal article that contains a rewrite of the press release from PR Wire. Gray Sexuality and Asexuality are not the same thing, despite what the article says, they are merely part of the same spectrum.

Such advice coming from dating experts presents less of a problem than similar advice coming from sex experts, psychologists, or psychiatrists.

"You have to do something to tap into that sexual energy, because it’s important. We are all sexual beings. Asexuals can have very diverse levels of sexual attraction, and many have found ways to form intimate and loving relationships,” said Lorraine, who seems to not understand the definition of Asexuality.

Planet Love match has commented on Asexual issues before, but  inviting dating experts on to the radio show only further confused the listeners of the show. Planet Love Match may want to bring an Asexual on to correct some of the misinformation that the experts handed out. The most damaging bit of misinformation was that Asexuality is a barrier to happiness.
