Theta decides to cover a topic that the Asexual News staff does not. She discusses the issue of Asexual Relationships and how to prevent them from being awkward. Eventually, Asexual News will have more to say on this issue.

How to make one work. Step one, find a fellow Ace (though this is easier said than done, given that we only make up 1% of the population), or failing that, find a sexual person who is okay with not having sex say, every other day or what not.
Step 2: Date, get to know each other.
Step 3: If compatible after getting to know each other, get engaged.
Step 4: Get married. (Whether to have a honeymoon is up to you & your spouse).
Step 5: Optional, have kids (even though this author doesn't ever want children, she acknowledges that some Aces do).

Disclaimer: The staff of Asexual News does not consider the site to be the best place to seek relationship advice. The only worse source for relationship advice comes from a certain Seattle-based columnist. Supporting an Asexual partner requires a person to understand one fundamental difference between the mindset of a sexual person and an Asexual.
A sexual partner in a relationship may find that the other partner does not want sex. He may find out that the partner wants to have intercourse with members of the same gender. The circumstance can cause a lot of hurt feelings, broken families, divorces and hard feelings. Navigating a relationship between a sexual and an Asexual is easier than navigating a relationship that ends because one partner is gay or lesbian, but there will always be a fundamental divide between the two partners. It does not matter whether the partner is male or female. The circumstances are the same.

In this Video, Theta introduces the world to her to the views on Asexual Relationships. Readers may have noticed that the actual Asexual News writers do not like to touch upon this topic very often. This video will help people sort out all of the issues involved.

Bella DePaualo, a blogger for the Huffington Post, recently commented on Paula Haag's new book Marriage Confidential: The Post-Romantic Age of Workhorse Wives, Royal Children, Undersexed Spouses, and Rebel Couples Who Are Rewriting the Rules. Paula Haag's new book contains one story of interest to Asexuals.
That Asexuals sometimes find themselves in a relationship with a sexual partner is not news. Differing sexualities and differing sex drives can always cause problems in a married relationship. What is unusual, is the Asexual spouse giving the sexual spouse permission to conduct extra-marital affairs. The story itself appeared long before DePaulo's June 2011 column. The Asexual spouse insisted on having a role in the sexual spouse's partner selection. (Readers of Fark.com may describe such a person as the Best. Spouse. Ever).
