Did God/Nature really intend for humans to have sex?

Historically, it may seem that way, especially if you believe in the biblical story of Adam & Eve. However, also historically, there have been humans that saw sex as nothing more than a chore that had to be done from time to time. So if God(s) or nature, intended for us humans to have sex, then why did God(s) or nature design some of us to have very little or no desire for sex?
