What is the percentage of people who are Asexual?

Approximately 1% of the world’s population is Asexual. The numbers very depending on the study used. The figure that is most frequently cited comes from a 2004 cited by Anthony Boegart. (Links to all of these studies can be found on the Asexual Explorations web site). Kinsey’s famous study on Sexuality placed the incidents of people who he described as “X” on his scale at 1.5% for men and 2% for women.

Greater information of Asexuality may have led to more awareness, but there has been no additional studies in recent years to challenge or confirm Boegart’s figure.
