Heteroromantic Asexuals exist within the Asexual spectrum. They often get criticized for their ability to pass as straight, by people who fall on the LGBT spectrum, but the criticism misses one key point.
People who criticize Heteroromantic Asexuals for being heterosexual miss one key defining feature. Asexuals who are romantically attracted to the opposite gender are still not interested in the oldest dance. It is hard to tell the difference between how someone looks and how someone feels.
There has been some friction generated between the Asexual and LGBT communities over the existence of Heteroromantic Asexuals, but the friction has not extended beyond more than a few blogs. Heteroromantics will date the opposite gender and may engage in monogamous non-sexual relationships.
