Asexuality & Feminism: How the two are related

Back in April, Asexual News published an article on Feminism and Asexuality. The author of which, was puzzled at how the two are related.

Feminism is about equality for all women, which includes Asexual women. Or at least, does ideally. As Feminism is within the confines of society. And societys view on women is one of chastity until marriage, or at least until a woman is in a serious monogamous, preferably heterosexual, relationship. (Though, granted, feminists will argue that women have the right to enter into sexual relations with anyone they want, regardless of the gender of the partner. But how many feminists will argue that women have the right to not enter into sexual relations at all)? And once in a relationship, women are expected to want to have sex. Which ignores the existence of us that don't want sex at all, even in a serious relationship. Even the author is having trouble relating Asexual issues with Feminist issues. Then again, no one would deny that Feminists exist.

Authors note: What I mean by feminism is in the confines of society, is that even feminism, can't ignore the socially acceptable view of women as sexual beings, under the right circumstances, that is. I wasn't sure how to word that part.
