Asexuality and rape

One may be wondering how Asexuality and rape are related. Well, for one thing, rapists think that no means yes, or that no one in their right mind, could possiblly say no to sex with them. As such, Asexuals don't exist to them, since Asexuality is the lack of desire for sex (well and no sexual attraction). So you could say that rapists/rape culture deny the existence of Asexuals and Asexuality.

Not only that, rape, whenever it's talked about, tends to make the woman the victim and the man the rapist. It hardly ever occurrs to some that the situation can be reversed, with the man as the victim and the woman as the rapist. Which, in this author's opinion, ignores the existence of Asexual men.

Also, if you look at the Asexuality 101 articles, you'll notice a bunch of articles debunking myths about Asexuality, the most recent being, humans were designed to have sex, among others such as the necessity of sex to maintain a romantic relationship etc etc. Those myths center around the idea that no one (in their right mind anyway), could possibly not want to have sex. Which ties in with what rapists believe, which is that no one could possibly not want to have sex with them.
