Asexuals living in small towns should come out when they can do so safely

Calls for any minority group to come out of the closet are often left unheeded. Asexuals are no different from other sexual minorities in this. A person's perceived orientation can make the life of an outed Ace a living hell. The attitudes of the general populace and celebrities claiming Asexuality as a cover for their true orientation have done little to help recognition of Aces. Nevertheless, there is a need for people who can come out as Asexual safely in small towns to do so.

Asexuals may or may not have a problem with discrimination. They often have a problem with perceived orientation. A reader will quickly point out that many people cannot do this. The author does not suggest everyone do this, but there is a good reason for Asexuals to come out in small towns and one that does not have much to do with Asexuality.

An Asexual town? Interesting idea

Apparently, there's a town in South Dakota for sale. www.asexuality.org/en/index/.php?/topic/64300-asexual-town/

So what would you do if you had the money to buy it? (The cost is, $799,000). Unless, one actually does have that much money lying around, then they can buy their own Asexual town. It would be great, in a way, if we had our own little town, kinda like the Asexual (and real life) equivalent of Galt's Gluch in Atlas Shrugged. Though, in another way, having our own town would isloate us from the rest of the world, which would hinder Asexual visibility.
