Is Asexuality Christian? Christianity does not condemn attraction at any point

The Apostle Paul is cited as an example of an Asexual character in the Bible. The first century subject of the Roman Empire certainly did not understand Asexuality the way people understand it today. His own statement of celibacy and a statement that is sometimes seen as condoning Asexuality does not

Members of the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Bisexual community may look at Asexuals and see no religious oppression, which for the most part is true, no Christian denomination has put out a statement on whether or not they would welcome Asexuals. People only started to identify en mass as Asexuals only ten years ago. Religions, which often respond slowly to change, may not have noticed the trend yet. Even if they do, there is no guarantee that any Christian denominations will comment on Asexuality.

A Very Brief Overview of Asexuality as a Disorder

People searching for Asexual disorder in the DSM will be disappointed, as Asexuality is not listed as a condition in the book. People thinking that this means  Asexuality is not listed under another name are incorrect. Asexuals can be and are diagnosed with Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder. If a person wants to understand the issues surrounding the pathologization of Asexuality, he can find information on Asexual Explorations.  The Asexual Explorations site's blog discusses the history of HSDD and several attempts to remove HSDD from the DSM.

Unintentionally erasing Asexual women?

In a childfree community I'm a member of on LJ, the topic of vaginismus came up. Never having heard of it before, I looked it up, just out of curiosity. Then I looked it up again, this time, to get some more information on it. A site I clicked on has this on the right side of the page, "Vaginismus is a common cause of ongoing sexual pain and is also the primary female cause of sexless marriages". Which, to me, seems to be ignoring the fact that not all women, even married women, want sex.
