British Celebrities Share Stories of Being Doctor Who Fans in New Book

A new book contains the stories of 100 famous Doctor Who fans. Behind the Sofa provides new insights into famous British celebrities who have watched the show. Celebrities who are fans of the show were not the only people who appear in the book.

BBC One controller Michael Grade also contributed to the memoirs in the book. Long-time fans of the show are not fans of Grade, according to The List. Grade fired the sixth doctor, Colin Baker, which led to the cancellation of the show.

Doctor Who may have disappeared from the airwaves for over a decade, but it was revived in 2005. The reboot has renewed interest and the show and brought it to a new generation of fans. Fans endured the 16-year absence of the Tardis, and suffered through several failed attempts to revive the series.

Steve Berry wrote Behind the Sofa. Proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to Alzheimer’s Research.
