The Olivia Experiment Website Changes Description; Film to Air at Dances With Films Festival

The makers of the Olivia Experiment have changed the synopsis on their website so the main character is no longer described as Asexual. The film’s main premise remains the same. Marketing materials no longer claim that the main character is exploring her emerging sexuality.

A few pieces of problematic language remain on the site, including a description of AVEN as a support group for people who consider themselves to be Asexual, rather than describing AVEN as an organization for Asexuals.

The film will air at the Dances with Film Festival on June 7. Without seeing the ending of the film, or the rest of the film, it will be difficult for the author to determine if The Olivia experiment is a repeat of House’s “Better Half” episode, but it seems that the production company is trying to avoid the same mistake made by the writers and producers of the medical drama.

Yes No I don't get it... how is describing AVEN as a support group problematic? :/
