Will the Ice Warriors Be In The Next Doctor Who Series?

Doctor Who may not have any episodes in its next season, but fans of the classic show may wonder if any of the old classic monsters are returning. Matt Smith, the current Doctor, acknowledged that the ice warriors were the one of the last classic monsters to return to the series. He did not make any official declaration at a mini convention at a mini-convention in Birmingham last weekend.

Fans already know several things about the next series, including the planned exit of the Doctor's current companions. Unofficial sources have indicated that Mark Gatiss, one of the writers on the show, intends to bring the ice warriors back.

Smith and his co-stars may or may not battle the reptilian race in the next series of the show. Greater speculation abounds about what the producers and writers intend to do for the show's 50th anniversary in 2013. The Ice warriors first appeared during John Pertwee's reign as the Time Lord.
