Caroline John, Former Doctor Who Companion, Dies at 71

Caroline John, a doctor who companion who traveled with the doctor while John Pertwee played the rule, passed away last week. The actress was 71. Moffat and her co-stars praised the actress's life and her work.

Moffat, the current producer of the series, called her a tremendous actress. Other co-stars said she was always eager to recreate the role. She even returned to play the Doctor's companion in the 1980s, for “The Five Doctors”.

John's death comes only a few months after another Doctor Who companion died. Elizabeth Sladen spawned several spinoffs after her role as Mary Jane Lyle Smith.
