Doctor Who Script by Douglas Adams and Gareth Roberts Released

Fans of Douglas Adams and fans of Doctor Who should check out one of the lates offerings from the BBC. Adams wrote scripts during the Tom Baker years. The last Douglas Adams book, The Salmon of Doubt, was posthumously culled from Adams's fleet of Macintosh computers. The BBC is letting customers pre-order Shada: The Lost Adventure. Gareth Roberts shares a byline with Douglas Adams.

The BBC intended to film the episode as part of the 1979-1980 season for Doctor Who. A writer's strike cut the season short. The BBC released part of the episode in 1992. An abridged version of episode was released. The abridged version included narration by Tom Baker.

The missing story features the Doctor returning to Cambridge to visit an old friend and fellow time lord. The simple trip devolves into something much more menacing, as many of the Doctor's trips do.
