February is LGBT History Month in the United Kingdom

United States residents have their own LGBT history month, but February serves the purpose in the United Kingdom. The theme for this year's UK LGBT pride month is Homophobia in Sport. The month raises awareness of contributions made by British Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender citizens.

Planned LGBT History months can be found on the UK LGBT History month website. The focus on homophobia in sport will be supplemented with other issues, such as discussion of bullying issues. The website makes no mention of Asexuals. The UK event, now in its eighth year, is slightly younger than AVEN or the Haven for the Human Amoeba Yahoo Group.

Event organizers have planned art exhibitions, educational activities, and discussion panels through-out Great Britain through-out the month of February.
