Trevor Project Puts Out PDF Pamphlet on Asexuality

The Trevor Project, which recently announced that it would provide support to Asexuals, put out a booklet which details issues that are specific to the Asexual community. Readers can download the PDF directly from the organization's website, although it is not easy to find.

The pamphlet touches on the rocky relationship that exists between the LGBT and the Asexual communities.Aces are not always accepted into LGBT groups. Because the Trevor Project works with young people, it does not deal witht he issues faces by older Aces. The pamphlet focuses heavily on the issues of Romantic Asexuals. The issues of Aromantic Asexuals are barely touched upon.

Several areas of the pamphlet are based on assumptions, as there is no official research to back up the pamphlet's assertions. Cases of people being bullied for Asexuality are not yet well-documented. Researchers have only recently begun to delve into Asexual mental health issues.
