A gay couple in New York was recently asked by a bus driver to go to the back of the bus if they wanted to continue to hold hands, according to LGBTQ Nation.
Ari Gold, an entertainer who is openly gay was riding in a Shortline bus with his partner. The driver involved a New York State trooper in after Gold refused to give up his seat. The trooper, whose name was not released, told the driver that the couple was not committing any crime. The Short Line bus continued on its way shortly afterward.
George Grieve, the president of the company who owns the Shortline buses apologized to Gold and said the actions of one driver did not represent the position of the company. Hudson Transit Lines, the company that owns Shortline, said the incident was under investigation.
