Activist plans Target boycott on Labor Day weekend

Blogger Roy Steele continues his campaign against retailers who use the Christian Give Back group, formerly known as the Christian Values Network. Steele's plans have not gone unnoticed or without criticism. CGBG lawyers have threatened to sue him if he does not remove what they identify as false information from their website. The online portal has fought back against gay activists telling retailers not to let themselves be bullied.

Steele's latest salvo in the ongoing culture war exposes Townhall columnist Kevin McCollough as the head of the company that owns CVN.org. The blogger accuses the group of belonging to an organization known as the Faith and Family Values Network. Jiveinthe415.com suggests that the organization is playing shell games in order to hide its true intentions.

The Parents Action League circulates petition supporting Annoka-Hennepin's sexual orientation neutrality policy

Anoka-Hennepin school district officials are facing several lawsuits over the school district's LGBT neutrality policy. The lawsuits allege that the policy prevents teachers from speaking out and stopping the harassment LGBT students receive. While the lawsuits have been filed in federal court, a citizen's group calling itself the Parents Action league is circulating an online petition

The group sent the Star Tribune a letter saying that the policy keeps schools focused on academic issues and prevents activists from using children as pawns for social change. The letter goes on to say that homosexual behavior exposes people to life-threatening health risks.

Troublesome wording of NOM Pledge may not result in gay witch hunts

The National Organization for Marriage has issued a pledge that many Republican presidential hopefuls have signed. By signing the pledge, the candidates promise to support a federal amendment defining marriage as being between one man and one woman, nominate and support nominees who will defend marriage, defend the Federal Defense of Marriage Act and appoint a presidential commission to investigate harassment of marriage supporters.

Tim Pawlenty, Michelle Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have signed the pledge, but LGBT activists worry about the conducting of the commission. LGBTQNation blogger Alvin McEwen stated, “Who’s to say that this commission wouldn't turn into a fishing expedition determined to undermine and destroy pro-gay organizations? And I haven’t even mention[ed] bloggers”.

Anti-gay group AFTAH campaigns to keep 1983 blood ban in place

The anti-gay group Americans for Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH) is campaigning to keep the ban in place. Medical experts have called the ban discriminatory and suggest more modern testing methods could ensure the safety of the nation's blood supply. The department of Health and Human services considered lifting the ban last year, but declined to do so based on the lack of evidence. HHS officials said that they would consider letting low-risk gay men donate blood after a further study, according to the American Independent.
