A recent Lady Gaga video uses shows an upside down pink triangle. A few Asexuals, perhaps eager to find proof of another Ace Celebrity, have suggested Lady Gaga may have been trying to suggest Asexuality by invoking the symbol used by AVEN. Internet writers often invoke the names of celebrities to bring extra traffic to the site. (Ed. Note: We could not create a link to the exact Tumblr post.)
A desire for more Asexual celebrities is easily understood and given that many of the people suggesting it's an Asexual symbol are young perhaps the lack of knowledge surrounding the symbol can be forgiven as well. Asexuals should know the sad history behind this symbol before suggesting a pop singer was trying to evoke Asexuality or promote awareness of the topic. Gaga has only claimed celibacy when asked about her sex life.

Corpus Christi – The Flour Bluff Independent School District denied permission to start a Gay Straight Alliance. A policy passed in 2005 prevents clubs not linked to the school's curriculum from meeting on campus. School district officials asked the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to meet off campus while the legal policy was reviewed, according to the Corpus Christ Caller-Times.
Biancia “Nikki” Peet, a senior at the school, sought to start a Gay-Straight Alliance organization on the Campus, a move which was backed up by the Texas A&M branch of the organization, according to LGBTQNation. In a letter defending the school district's decision, Flour Bluff's superintendent, Julie Carbajal said it was dedicated to defending the cultural diversity of all students.

Members of the Gay-Straight alliance of the Corpus Christi Texas A&M University Campus plan to protest in front of the Flour Bluff Independent School District's administration building, according to KRIS-TV.
School administrators recently decided to ban all non-academic clubs from meeting on campus in order to prevent the formation of a Gay-Straight Alliance chapter in the High school. Members of the Texas A&M Corpus Christi branch started picketing the building Friday. Supporters from outside the school district showed up to show their support for Nikki Peet and the new club.
Residents of the school district who oppose the formation of the club on the grounds that groups discussing Asexuality are not appropriate for college campuses plan their own counter protests in support of the school district's decision.
Asexual News attempted to contact the school district and the Texas A&M GSA, but no group has yet responded to requests for more information.* The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which had previously met on school grounds, was asked to meet outside of school grounds until the legal system could review the school district's position.
Flour Bluff administration officials firmly stated there is no chance that the proposed GSA will win approval.
*Incorrect contact information is the most likely cause.

A member of Anonymous hacked into a WestBoro Baptist Church website. The recently hacked website exposed the network of the church and contained information about other activities of the group.
“We had thought this latest release would be enough to make you realize that we have no interest in going to war with you. Anonymous is hard at work with ongoing operations such as those involving Bahrain, Libya and Iran, not to mention we are tirelessly working to maintain coverage of all of our HBGary leaks for the public to enjoy.”
