Asexuality Accepted into NUS LGBT

A caucus held at the NUS LGBT conference in Manchester this weekend resulted in the inclusion of Asexuals within the LGBT division of the national union of students. Earlier attempts to bring Asexual groups into the organization of a local level had failed.

AVEN user Yolly and Tumblr user Demi-lesbian sought volunteers to hand out pamphlets at the conference held this weekend. AVEN’s UK Media contact announced the news after he received a text message from her while she was at the conference.

Efforts to include Aces at the local level had failed frequently because the individual groups often felt that this group was not part of the queer community. The overall debate will continue on for some time, but it has been settled within one British organization.
