New York Metropolitan Community Church of New York to Hold Discussion on Asexuality and Spirituality

Discussions of Religion, Spirituality and Asexuality are not new. The discussions took place before AVEN formed early in the last decade. Religion, spirituality and sexuality are complex topics, but Asexuals have not even come down into definite camps. Official statements regarding Asexuality are rare, and one of the few religious books to mention it belongs to a controversial philosophy.

Southpaw, Metapianycist and other members of AVEN will conduct the spirituality panel on May 6, 2012. The event will take place at the Metropolitan Community Church of New York at 12:30 p.m. Each panelist will begin the discussion with a brief introduction.

Discussion topics will also include why few people have heard of Asexuality, how it relates with the LGBTQ community, and how a person’s orientation can conflict or coincide with their personal life.
