AVEN Adds A/Romantic Identities Forum

AVEN still does not have an Aromantic forum. The administrators and moderators proposed an A/Romantic identities forum after rejecting the latest proposal for an Aromantic forum. The administrators and moderators of the organization have rejected the proposal several times in the past. The most recent reason revolved around not wanting to wall off a part of the community.

There is a problem with this forum, which in part goes to the problem of romantic bias within the organization itself. Many people who identify as Aromantic do not feel welcome on the organization's message boards. As the largest organization, AVEN needs to provide a place for every type of Asexual, rather than actively trying to exclude a rather large segment of Asexuals.

Attempts to provide an alternative to AVEN have occurred. Apositive started as an attempt to counter the sex negativity found on the larger forum, but it never became as popular as the larger forum.
