Asexual Awareness Week Committee attempts Asexual census

The Asexual Awareness Committee is not the first organization to try to do a survey of Asexuals or to gain Asexual demographic information. They are simply the latest organization to do so. The survey, which was available on the committee’s website, is currently going through a revision process.

Asexual Awareness Week launches new website

Asexual Awareness Week has maintained a Facebook page for more than a year. It has over 500 followers. Members of the committee are gearing up for this years festivities, which will include screenings of (A)sexual in the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries. The one thing the event has not had is its own website.

DSM 5 contributors ponder public feedback

Readers who want to make a comment on the DSM 5, particularly its sexual dysfunction section will have to wait until 2012 to record their questions, comments, complaints or concerns. The American Psychiatric Association ended the opportunity for public comments on July 15th, according to Medscape.com

He has not had the time or inclination to install World of Warcraft on his new desktop computer).  Star Wars: the Old Republic has not yet been released, but there is a debate over gay marriage. The author caught some of the debate. He also caught people referring to Asexuals as a marginalized group.

Asexual Awarness Week partners with Angela Tucker to screen (A)sexual as part of Asexual Awareness Week

Asexual Awareness Week is excited to announce that part of this year's events will include several screenings of the new documentary “(A)sexual”. The film will be shown in cities around the United States in the month of October. A fundraising campaign to pay for the copies of the film, as well as an online advertising campaign, will be announced later this week. The fundraising goal is $1,000. “I know the asexual community can raise this money to secure these screenings of (A)sexual and the online advertising campaign”, said Sara Beth Brooks, who is helping organize the screenings. “Angela Tucker and Arts Engine are great allies. We are working together to make sure that this film is used as a resource to promote awareness of the asexual community in as many cities as possible”.

Cities that have already confirmed screenings include Las Vegas, NV and Bloomington, IN. More cities will be announced as they are added.
