The group, sponsored by the Asexuality Visibility and Education Network, made history by being the first Asexual group ever to march in such a pride parade. Sociologist Mark Carrigan wants to form international panel on Asexuality at Sexualization of Culture Conference

Mark Carrigan, a sociologist who became interested in Asexual and Asexuality related topics plans to hold the what he hopes will be the first International conference panel.  Ela Przyby and CJ Chasin have joined the panel. Carrigan tweeted that many sexuality researchers do not yet know about Asexuality, but often become fascinated by the topic once they become aware of it.

Carrigan hopes to hold the panel at the Sexualization of Culture Conference, scheduled to take place in December of this year. The conference will take place at the Institute of Education at the University of London.

Organizers have not yet decided on all of the topics that will come under discussion at the conference, but the official site has issued a call for papers on the subject. Other issues addressed include the sexualization of culture, how the availability of pornography affects society, how sexualization practices affect different groups in society and if it is possible to move beyond the panic and liberation debates that tend to dominate discussions about human sexuality.
