Asexuals are probably not concerned with the addition of Hyperactive Sexual Desire Disorder to the new edition of the DSM. Although AVEN formed committees to work with the Sexual dysfunctions DSM 5 committee. Even though no psychiatrist would consider diagnosing an Asexual person with any condition that begins with the label hypersexual, the ease with which the hypersexual desire disorder was added should cause Asexuals to worry
Adding the hypersexual condition to the sexual desire spectrum makes it less likely that the psychiatrist will remove the conditions that describe Asexuality as a mental disorder at any time in the near future. The psychiatrists have to ask themselves if they are adding something that falls into the normal range of human behavior.

Biosante and Apricus are competing to become the first company to offer a drug for HSDD. While the two firms have grabbed the headlines, a less noticed pharmaceutical company threw its hat into the ring. Luramist is the third drug for hypoactive sexual desire disorder struggling to obtain FDA approval, according to American Banking and Market News.
The company's profits may have caused them to declare a higher stock dividend, but all the companies either seem to have ignored the shirt in HSDD in the DSM-5, where HSDD will not be a diagnosis for women or simply came close to gaining approval of the drug too close to the planned release date of the next DSM edition.

Dr. Pattie Thomas’s new book Taking Up Space: How Eating Well and Exercising Regularly, makes a mention of Asexuality in the first chapter. A Blogger writer expanded on why the myth was included. The Blogger writer believes that the author is using Asexual the same way many critics of Lady Gaga use it to insult the pop singer.
Amazon.com does not have a preview of page where the myths are listed. Asexual News was not able to find it on Google Reader. Further details will come after the staff can obtain a copy. If the author did indeed mean people don’t find fat people sexually attractive, it would have been better to say so flat out rather than try to show off her impressive vocabulary.
The Blogger blogger decided to choose this myth, which appears as a part of a ten-week long series as the first list she addressed. Readers can find the full commentary here.
