S1 Biopharma Begins Development of Male HSDD Drug

S1 Biophharma recently announced the development of a male-only HSDD drug. The next edition of the DSM-5 makes HSDD a male only condition. A press release put out by the PR Newswire service announced the company’s intention to develop S1P-205. S1P-205 is the first drug to treat the psychological issues for men.

S1P-205 will be combined with Lorexys in most HSDD therapies, according to Nicolas G. Sitchoh, a spokesperson for S1 Biopharma. Researchers are hoping that this drug, combined with Lorexys, will increase the rates of treatment.   Unlike Viagra, a drug which works for erectile dysfunction, S1P-205 is intended to provide a holistic approach when used with Lorexys.

AVEN Proposes Romantic Identities Subforum

AVEN, the largest Asexual organization and website declined to add an Aromantic forum. Critics questioned the reason AVEN had turned down the forum yet again. A proposed forum hopes to solve this problem and prevent the walling off of the community that the administrators and moderators feared.

The new forum, the A/Romantic Identities subforum attempts to be all-inclusive. A current poll made available to users asks members if they want to rename the Asexual Relationships forum or add a new subforum.

Neto starts website, mailing list for African Asexuals

Julio Neto, the founder of the Brazilian Asexual forum, searched for an Asexual website in Africa. He did not find one. He originally put out a call for Lusophones. The call was an attempt to revitalize the languishing forums. Although his attempts to revitalize the Portuguese sites continues, he is also attempting to encourage a dialogue about Asexuality in Africa.

Asexuality in Africa, a new blog, hopes to address the lack of Asexual websites. The blog, which started only a few days ago, only has one post. Users can also subscribe to a mailing list to keep up on Asexual groups and other issues in Africa.

Sarah Mirk, a freelance journalist, is conducting interviews from a newbook called Sex from Scratch. Mirk hopes to interview Romantic Asexuals in the Boston and New York City areas. Unlike previous requests, there is not an age limit to participate in her survey.

The book hopes to examine many different types of nontraditional relationships. Mirk made the request through the AVEN project team. Her particular interest is in the logistics of navigating a relationship in which sex does not play a part.
