Asexuality Interest Group To Meet at NWSA 2012

The National Womens' Studies Association agreed to form an Asexuality Interest Group. Karli June Cerankowski submitted the request to form the group to the NWSA. The Asexuality Interest group has been given its own conference room for the NWSA 2012 conference.

Regina M. Wright issued a call for Asexuality papers for the conference in January. NWSA's website will add Asexuality to the keywords for submissions next year. The first Asexuality was presented at the NWSA 2011.  Megan Milks, Karli JuneCerankowski, Ianna Hawkins Owen and Eunjung Kim formed the panel.  Sonny Nordmarken  served on the panel as a non-presenting moderator.  Wright  proposed the idea of an Asexuality Interest group that looks at asexual issues through a feminist lens.

UK Sun Reporter Seeks 4 Asxuals For Interview

The Daily Sun, a UK publication, seeks four Asexuals between the ages of 18-35 for an interview. AVEN's UK media project coordinator, Mchaeld, expressed reservations about an article appearing in the Sun, but noted that positive articles often come from unexpected sources.

Asexual Issues Usually Not On GLAAD's Radar

Matt Kane, the Associate Director of Entertainment Media at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance for Defamation, said that Asexual issues are not usually on GLAAD's radar. 

Kane's tone uses the same caution Asexuals use when describing the intersection between Asexual and LGBT issues, but he did express concern over how the show treated Asexuals. The Associate Director of Entertainment media asked for materials to send to the writers and producers of  House, M.D.

Disgruntled Investors File Lawsuit Against Biosante Over Libigel

Investors saw Biosante’s Libel as a promising treatment for post-menopausal female sexual dysfunction. When the drug failed to do as well in clinical trials as expected, the price of the stock sank. Biosante currently faces a class action lawsuit alleging that the company defrauded investors when the company’s stock sank 77% in a single day, according to the Courthouse News Service.
