Asexual News's One Year Anniversary

Asexual News is a year old today. As the previous two articles indicate, it has been a year of triumphs, trials and tribulations. There have been a number of changes, most of which would not really affect the user. Today's piece will look back on some of the changes made throughout the year.

One of the early concerns facing the site was to find a way to reduce hosting costs. Advertising was the most obvious way to do this, although there was a problem with the site name. Asexual News tried several different ad providers before finding two reliable sources.

A later addition involve experimenting with an events calendar module. The events calendar was designed to let people post events and other items that were either missed by the staff or were not considered to be newsworthy. It was eventually removed because it was not used.

Asexual News added new sections throughout the year to meed the needs of the site. Asexual Passions provided a place to provide a place to address Asexual relationship issues. Asexuality 101 was added to provide people with a brief overview of topics, although the staff recommends using the AVEN's wiki  and Asexual Explorations for information relating to general and academic Asexual topics.
