Donation Button Added

Visitors may notice the donation button that now appears on top of the ads. The donation button is a new addition to the site and it was placed there out of necessity. The ads we run do not pay for our server hosting costs. The site’s owner has paid for the hosting out of her own pocket, but it may not be possible to do so for much longer. (The loss of her real life job may make it difficult to continue paying the VPS in this manner).

Monthly incentives will be offered for donations over a certain amount. The first incentive will be a “My Donation on the Kinsey Scale is Imaginary” pin. People who choose to donate must provide their e-mail address if they wish to receive the merchandise. If donations cover the cost of hosting, the number of ads we display will be reduced. (Author’s Note: I cannot promise they will be eliminated).

The initial thought behind the site was that the ads should pay to keep Asexual News running. This has not quite worked out as well as the site owner had hoped. Our traffic is steady and we are maintaining a ranking higher than some notable Asexual sites.
