Asexual News to transfer servers

Asexual News has been planning a server transfer for some time. Although the site is still relatively small compared to other Asexual sites, our shared hosting became problematic for our users. It also became problematic for the people who shared our Hostgator server. Hostgator has treated us well. (The site's owner expected extremely unsubtle hints that it was time to upgrade to a VPS package. The first of the hints came when it took three days for the company to process our statistics with the AWStats plugin. We are still using Hostgator by the way, just a different hosting package).

The staff has noticed problems with site lag, particularly when posting articles. The move to the new server will limit the amount of bandwidth the site can use, but the bandwidth limitations should not cause any problems for the traffic that the site receives.

The transfer will happen in the next couple of days. Asexual News does not expect to see more than a few hours of downtime as a result of the transfer. The downtime will occur when we update our name servers to our new name servers. This will affect other sites Asexual News is hosting, but the only other site that sees regular traffic is tspeersupport.us.
